Rosemary and Peter are two young orphaned siblings living in England. Lacking a permanent family or a home of their own, they are shunted back and forth between two relatives. They spend six months of the year living with their Aunt Ella and the remaining six months with their Aunt Mary. Because of this unstable lifestyle, the children never feel truly settled or happy. The trajectory of their lives completely changes when they receive a life-altering invitation from their Grannie. She asks them to leave England behind and come live with her permanently on her expansive farm, named Yaraloo, located in the Australian Outback. The siblings embark on an exciting voyage across the ocean to their new country.
